Never discipline your children when you're beyond furious at their actions. Stop their behavior by putting them in a time out. Once you have calm down you can talk to your children about their behavior and advise them of what their discipline will be. How would you discipline a child without losing your cool?

Call a time out allow child and yourself to calm down first. Then come back to address and handle disciplinary actions at that point and time. Communicate the behavior that you didn't like and express it will not be tolerated. If it happens again it will be handled in a fashion you or myself will not like. Always take a step back, and try to calm down before you discipline your children. If you need to, go to the restroom to cool off a bit before you come back and figure out which punishment you want to give to your children. My dad always spanked me as a kid, I don't advise that myself though.
