Have you ever forgotten to renew something?

Post by Ravenfreak »

Well this just happened to me, I forgot to renew my domain name for Thee Zone when I had the chance and now I can't access my forum until I can pay the renewal fee. I can't afford it right now but I'm hoping to get my tax refund back tomorrow so I can renew it. Has something like this ever happened to you?

I have forgotten to renew something multiple times. The one I remember now is when I forgot to renew my driving license. It was a terrible experience because I had to face the consequences.

That's a terrible experience! Renewing the license can be a pain in the neck especially if you are late. I always set an alarm so that I will not forget things especially if they are so important and could have a negative impact if not renewed at the approach time.

I have. I forgot to renew my domain a few years ago. It was almost 30 days past due. I renewed it with two days left.

Were you still able to access your website or was it down for a bit?

It was down for a bit, but my server was still active. As soon as I renewed my domain, it was back up.

I also forgot to renew my domain name once and it is because I do not keep track of the expiring date. But now I've got an idea that automating it would do the trick.

This works out well too. I usually don't have anything set to autorenew though as I'm not as forgettful as I used to be. Almost losing my domain once make me not forget again.
