Post: # 976Post Choccodee39 »

To deal with favoritism in the family, first establish that what you precieve is favoritism or just misconception. Set boundaries make sure your well-being is ok. Don't get down in the dumps about it no one's should be able to define themselves through others so don't compare yourself to others. Go to family express what you are feeling and why. Demand an explanation of why they are doing it. How would you deal with family favoritism?

I think it's tough to deal with favoritisms among family members. I'm glad you put importance on communicating your feelings and setting limitations. Just remember that favoritism speaks more of the parent's insecurities than of anything done by the child, and by reasonably and openly addressing the issue, it works towards having a lovely family environment where all feel balanced.

I think sometimes favoritism In families can be a miscommunication. Every parent knows their children and which is capable of what. Therefore it can be taken as favoritism if one particular child is asked to do something or go along with them on store runs all the time. That simply has to do with maturity level. To deal with it you get other siblings to do other fun stuff like help bake, fold clothes and other fun task. Try to share time with all on separate occasions and make sure each one knows their your favorite.
