Some commercials are outright strange, or scary. The advertising companies like to do this to get your attention about a subject. For example lots of people on the r/commercialshate community on Reddit said they didn't like the Terrie Hall CDC Anti Smoking ads since it made them uncomfortable or outright scared them. How about you? Which commercials freaked you out? I was afraid of this Marines commercial as a kid, and any time it would come on during the middle of the night I would freak out and wake my parents up so they could change the channel lol.

Most of the unsettling commercials are aimed to grab your attention and I have witnessed a couple of them especially while growing up.

Most of the ads that freak me out are weird and quirky ads. They grab my attention in a different kind of way.

Ads that I don't like are the ones that are annoying or repetitive . Personally, I don't see how ads that I meant to be impactful or thought provoking can be unsettling or even scary.

Yeah I don't watch live tv anymore so I don't see commercials like I did growing up. I just stream things these days.cpvr wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 8:51 am I honestly don't watch tv that much, so i rarely see commercials. I use amazon prime and peacook a lot.
