What is the most important advice that someone gave you and how did it influence your life? For me it is ‘believe in yourself’. My parents said this to me when I wasn’t believing in myself and this has remained with me till today.

It’s helped me to be more confident and courageous, and to remember to follow my instincts and take a chance. What advice would you say has had an impact in your life?

The best advice I received was my kids Nanna telling me after her son and I ended our relationship for good. I ended it because I was older, and he had more growing up to do and experiences he need to have gone through. Did it hurt me yes it did, however it had to be done. I cried for weeks inside my pillow so the kids couldn't here me at night. During the day when the kids played outside I would cry. His mom walked in and said to me one day. "Baby stop crying, I know you are heartbroken and that's my son, but the Sun doesn't shine because of him. She said he's gone on with his life, live yours and be happy you're not stuck with someone who is not ready for you!. There is someone who is worthy and would love to make you there wife. That day of advice changed my life. I bought my first car, started beauty school and got my own apartment. That was the best advice that I received and it impacted my life greatly.

I received similar advice from one mentor: "Perfection or perfectionism." The advice was simple yet it helped me in becoming a compassionate and motivated person. It's been a reminder to me that all people make mistakes and again that learning and growing from those mistakes is okay.
