How Do You Challenging Societal Norms?

Post: # 141Post Ryan »

Sick and tired of what society deems as beautiful and the stereotype that goes along with it? It's very important to challenge them. I would like to hear your ideas on how we should continue the discussion of acceptance of all body types. What are your ideas?

First off, I have been sick and tired of what society thinks about all people. My frustration is deep with what they think of plus-size women, how we should dress, what they think we need to eat and jealous women thinking that were are desperate for their man. I beg to differ everytime because I come to slay every chance I get, I eat to live and I know my worth and my challenge is already out their. Therefore check your man because he persues me and compliments my style because it's definitely sexy and feminine. Ontop of that when he asks me if he can take me on a date, he orders my favorite meal with my favorite win of the day! No caps!

I am actually a model and I have modeled with many "big girls" or bigger people and what I love about my agent and those I work with/for is that the see the beauty in all sizes and shapes. They realize that beauty isn't necessarily skinny and small. My agent actually doesn't sign anyone who is deemed too small or unhealthy which I really respect her for. Sometimes society and people have an idea of what beauty is however, in my opinion beauty changes from person to person. Some people find homes cozy and beautiful while others feel like the home is small and dull. Same with people, I don't believe you have to be small, have abs and muscles in order for you to be handsome or beautiful. Beauty to me is healthy and if you are healthy and bigger than so be it. Flaunt it. I don't think it should be normal to starve yourself and be sad/unhappy. As long as you are healthy and happy who cares what others think about your body. Most people don't know how they feel about themselves and most people have insecurities even if they are skinny and pretty so really just be the best you and you're beautiful already.

I am a BBW that loves fashion and staying up with the fashion trends. I really have never cared at all or allowed society to dictate to me what I should or shouldn't wear. I challenge them by wearing it even if they say I'm to big to wear it. Therefore I challenge them with my confidence. How do you challenge societal norms?
