How do you handle jealousy or competition in friendship?

Post: # 999Post Choccodee39 »

When I first notice jealousy or competition in my friendship, I watch and observe what triggered it and why. Then with discretion I encourage my friend that she is and more of whatever she is jealous of me about or let her know with discretion she has nothing to be competitive about with anyone because she is unique in her on way and no one can compare to her uniqueness nor mine. I let her know we both shine Bright! in our own diamond world. How do you handle jealousy and competition in friendship?

Jealousy and competition in a friendship is a big issue and I deal with it by acknowledging and reminding my friends of their unique strength. Doing this has really helped to shift the focus away from comparison.

When you are friends your communication should be open enough that you can talk about anything. Acknowledge that you sense that there's a problem and assure them that you are equal to each other no one is above the other. Let them know you value the friendship and that jealousy and competitiveness is something that will never be allowed in this friendship. Come to an agreement and move forward.
