Self care routine.

Post: # 73Post Choccodee39 »

As a Big Girl growing up and upto now I have heard the many stereotypes that we as plus-size women get blamed of being. Lazy is one thing to be labeled as, however call stinky and don't shower or bathe is the worst. So I have big girl rules I live by and thats, look good, smell good, hair done makeup on point always. My self care routine starts with loving on me from head to toes. My hair is kelp healthy and moisturized, styled always. My face is cleansed daily and nightly plus moisturizing and any helpful products to keep beauty in tact. As for my body, I cleanse daily, exfoliate, moisturize and keep hydrated at all time. I keep a good oral hygiene as well brushing and flossing. I see my dentist for cleaning and for gum care as needed. My private areas are keep fresh and so clean clean. I love to smell good therefore you will ask what are you wearing? I could go on body wise but I'll leave with this? What is your self care routine? What does it consist of. What are some new products you've heard about that could be helpful to the Big Girl With Options community?

Wow, I just want to say thank you for sharing this so openly and beautifully 💖 I felt every word. You're absolutely right! Those tired stereotypes need to be left in the dust. Self-care is not only an act of love, but also a powerful statement and you clearly embody that from head to toe!

I’m all about that “look good, smell good, feel good” life too. My routine is my sacred time to pour into myself, especially since I’m usually pouring into others through my makeup work. For me, it starts with a long, warm shower (bonus points for eucalyptus in the steam!), followed by a gentle exfoliator and a rich shea butter body cream. I always finish off with a body mist and a perfume. I want to turn heads and leave a trail. (Though I always make sure not to put on too much perfume cause I'm not one for strong perfume smell)

Skincare-wise, I’m loyal to double cleansing at night and never skip my toner and serum combo. Right now, I’m loving products with niacinamide for keeping my skin smooth and glowy. And as a makeup artist, you know the brows, lashes, and lips stay on point!

Oral care is so important too. I actually have a little pouch in my purse with flossers, mints, and my fave mini mouthwash. I love being fresh and feeling confident all day long.

One new product I’ve heard about that I’m super curious to try is the new Tree Hut Body Serums—they’re supposed to layer beautifully under moisturizer and perfume. Also, for us glam girls, the Fenty Skin Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream is such a luxurious treat.

Thank you again for opening up this conversation, it’s so empowering to be among women who are taking up space unapologetically and taking care of themselves like the royalty they are!
